Earlier today I accidentally deleted a Google AdWords Campaign. Even though the Campaign had ended, I might want to enable it once again, plus the data from the results is pretty useful. Now in my case I managed to restore the Google AdWords Campaign. I’m not saying it will work for you, but here is what I did:
Step 1 – Click on the ‘Campaigns’ tab.
Step 2 – Now within the main window you will notice new menu options such as ‘Campaigns’, ‘Ad Groups’ and ‘Settings’. Below ‘Campaigns’ there is a drop-down menu to pick which campaigns you can see. There should be an option to view the deleted campaigns, which you should select.
Step 3 – Now the deleted campaign should be shown, but next to the campaign name a red x. If you click on the red x you should be able to change the campaign to ‘Enabled’ or ‘Paused’. In my situation I selected ‘Paused’.
So why did I want to recover this deleted Google AdWords campaign, instead of starting over? Well firstly the campaign worked pretty well, and secondly the data from the campaign is useful for search engine optimisation work and other purposes.
